Application: 2020 - up Ford Explorer ST 3.0L TT AWD
Overview:
Designed for strength, precision, and performance, our 1350 Series Carbon Fiber Slip Shaft is built to handle the power of the twin-turbo Explorer ST. Each unit is crafted with 3” ID x .155” wall carbon fiber tubing (3.31" OD), a 2024 aluminum bondable yoke and spline sleeve assembly, SONNAX 3 bolt adapter flange and NEAPCO 1350 Performance Series solid cross, non-greaseable U-joints.
Every driveshaft is high-speed balanced on our Coetz Balancer, and includes a printed balance verification sheet with your order. We also torque-test every carbon fiber assembly in-house, ensuring a secure bond and reliable performance under high-torque conditions. We’re proud to be one of only three U.S. shops performing in-house torque testing on every carbon fiber driveshaft we build.
Key Features
- Direct Fitment – Bolts directly to OEM transmission flange and end yoke slips on to differential spline.
- Proprietary End Yoke - Custom designed 1350 series pinion end yoke with u-bolts included.
- No Adapters Needed/Rubber coupler delete – Built with precision SONNAX aluminum adapter flange with hardware on transmission end for true plug-and-play installation.
- Premium Carbon Fiber Construction – 14 layers of multi-directional weave provide exceptional strength and torsional rigidity.
- Lightweight 2024 Aluminum Components – Stronger and more durable than traditional 6061 aluminum.
- NEAPCO Performance 1350 series U-Joints – Performance-grade, solid cross, non-greaseable design for maximum reliability. Specifically engineered for racing.
- High-Speed Balanced & Torque-Tested In House – Ensures smooth operation and proven durability under load.
Installation & Care
- Removal of OEM driveshaft requires a special tool. CV removal from rear end spline will be challenging. Installation of end yoke requires a simple tool such as rubber mallet to tap yoke onto spline lock ring on rear differential.
- Remove transmission end rubber/guibo coupler. This is a direct bolt in flange yoke with no additional adapter needed (includes hardware).
- We highly recommend having a reputable race shop/garage remove and replace this driveshaft
- Maintain a minimum clearance around the driveshaft tunnel, exhaust, and gas tank shield to prevent contact or rubbing.
- Avoid exposing bonded areas to continuous heat above 300°F. Use proper heat shielding or insulation where necessary.
- Failures caused by heat exposure or clearance interference are not covered under warranty.
Component Availability
Due to ongoing supply chain fluctuations, equivalent high-quality components may occasionally be substituted. We’ll notify you before shipping and always use only premium-grade materials that meet or exceed our performance standards.
